“At the end of festivities the young Anna Maria would have climbed up into her husband’s farm cart, said goodbye to her family and left for her new home, Martinup. Mr and Mrs Edward Treasure were to prove themselves discerning and capable pioneers and their property, Martinup, prospered rapidly. Anna was already an excellent horsewoman. She is known to have later to teach her own daughters this and many other skills such as animal husbandry; account keeping; cookery; managing a house as well as working the farm. This also included the expansion of the farm and supervision of farm employees and household servants. |
